Hampton was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and started his professional career when he was recruited as a seventeen-year-old guitar prodigy by the band Funkadelic, which found itself in need of a lead guitarist after original guitarist Eddie Hazel left the band. Hampton impressed Funkadelic's George Clinton by performing a note-for-note rendition of Hazel's ten-minute solo "Maggot Brain". Hampton mad...

Wicked!
Bootsy was a great bass player holy shit
As a young musician in the early 70's, this band changed my life forever.
I saw them around this time. They opened for Zappa on mothers Day at the Cobo hall in Detroit. Both mind blowing!
Saw them around this time at the Legendary Brixton Academy. Best Live show I've ever seen
This is the p-funk earth tour live !
This sound reminds me of Before de beggining by Frusciante
Great music! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 RIP: From NJ: Glenn Goins (Plainfield), Eddie Hazel (Plainfield), Cordell Mosson, Ray Davis ------ --------- Garry Shider, Calvin Simon, Bernie Worrell, Fuzzy Hazel, Belita Woods, Mallia Franklin, Walter Morrison,Tiki Fulwood
Love it !! Listening from Oak Cliff, TX ❤
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

45:00 😵💫😵💫😵💫🔥🔥🔥
Traditional grip is not very rocknroll
🙅♀🙅♂🙅♂
Thank you!
Man I love this song it always brings me back to a time when I wasn’t doing well. But not in a sad way just more of an appreciation of how far I’ve come
May the Funk be with you
I can't hear the keyboards.
TOP MUSIC!!!!!!🌞
Live at Carnegie Hall circa 1976. This was live, and this is the first time that I have seen the drummer play this. If you want a taste of Acid Rock, get the album!
素晴らしい人達❤
これがファンクか〜濃いんだねー🎉
皆さんハイ🎉
Isn't that the bass player from Blind Faith? Joke. I saw Maha 3 times in 1972, all in L.A. John really cut loose for all of the "pros" he knew in the VIP pits. When you listen to the Orchestra make it loud enough to shatter your bones. If you live with horrible neighbors use headphones.
Real
Look into the story of how this came about...... Emotional electricity.
Who would have said one day that Ian Gillan would still singing at 79 years old 😮
Billy Cobham is phenomenal. His power, stamina and creativity ranks him at the very top alongside Micky Dolenz and Ringo Starr.
I saw The Mahavishnu in Manchester England in 1972 as part of their Birds Of Fire tour. They were awesome then. I was a music student in '73. I became a musician for many years, then into education. I met John and the 7th Dimension in Manchester at one of their many concerts. I spoke to him, and he was wonderful. I live in the same village as John was brought up in, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. I play all Mahavishnu stuff as my daily fix.
I liked it but actually prefer the studio versions. To me the formidable instrumental stars are: . Jan Hammer with hair for a change and then PROBABLY . My man, Billy open-handed Cobham. But really spots 1&2 could go either way. Call it a tie. Violin in such a setting, not a gimmick but I canlive with/without it. A great time-capsule.
I can't find out, how this band works, but it is an firework. Holy smoke, are they grooving!
Naulon my book
Aqua Boogie Baby! PFUNK FOR LIFE! 🤘 🤘🤘✊️❤

Algum BR que curte esse hino ?
Billy Cobham a true force of nature.
Oh my god this guitarist is an absolute genius ❤
20:45
Billy Cobham defining the "fat" sound of drum sets! A lot of power and precision to attain that.
1:01:23 🎸 "Hollywood Swinging" ( Kool & the Gang) riff! 🔥
Awesome! Who is the guitar player?
I only got to see them once in my yuonger days! Now phone videos have somewhat replaced going to shows!
Billy's tuned in.
